Again, not all of this is fully canon, beware!

Gabriel is a known name all throughout Heaven, of course. Being one of the highest as an Archangel, he is one of the most feared and respected. Being of the people, he was known for being less uptight than the Council, gaining favour with his charismatic attitude and approachable demeanour, even so much of a hero for his many actions to protect Heaven.

He is most notably friendly to FERRYMEN as well as VIRTUES, always finding compassion and care for the downtrod and supposedly 'lowly.' He is usually a calming and reserved presence, elevating him only more.

All of this falls once the Machine enters the picture.

Gabriel is very easily irritated by it, but also very easily fascinated and ecstatic- for who else can drive him to such reckless ecstasy? The machine is, in fact, one of the only people Gabriel will be outright aggressive towards, not bothering to reserve himself around it. While he no longer considers it 'lowly,' calling it that sure does seem to spark a fight more times than not, so he'd like to upkeep appearances.
